2017 Spring Walkabout

The KTBA is starting a new tradition of a neighborhood walkabout on Saturday, April 22 from 2-5 p.m.!

If you’ve attended one in South Park, you understand the concept: local businesses open their doors and encourage locals to stop by for special treats, discounts, activities, music, and more!

Take part in a fun-filled Saturday afternoon at the KTBA 2017 Spring Walkabout as we showcase the unique and independent businesses within Kensington and Talmadge.

Each participating business will be offering a complimentary treat, live entertainment, special offers, activities, and more!

Businesses along Adams Avenue will have their doors open to the community. Home-based and off-Adams businesses will have tables in the park, along the main route, or paired with brick-and-mortar locations. Everyone is welcome to attend!

It’s free for KTBA members to participate; for all other business participants the fee is $25.

Community participants (the walkers) will be given a map and stamp card to incentivize stopping in at each participating business. Businesses will initial the card, and participants who have visited each business will have a chance to win a selection of prizes in special raffles.

If you’re interested in participating, please complete our application and email it to Megan at For non-members, please mail your completed application and your payment of $25 to KBA at 4183 Adams Avenue, San Diego, CA 92116.
